The Bangladesh Army has implemented a series of significant leadership changes at its highest levels, affecting several key positions across strategic and operational commands. Announced on Thursday by Army Headquarters, the reshuffle impacts the roles of Quartermaster General (QMG), Adjutant General (AG), the National Defence College (NDC), the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST), and General Officer Commanding (GOC) positions in key logistic and infantry divisions.

According to defence ministry sources, the latest changes follow an earlier round of appointments and promotions made the previous Sunday, reflecting the Army’s ongoing policy of rotating senior leadership to maintain operational efficiency and institutional continuity.

Major Appointments

Quartermaster General and NDC: Lieutenant General Md. Foyzur Rahman, previously serving as QMG, has been appointed as Commandant of the National Defence College (NDC). In turn, Lieutenant General Mohammad Shahinul Haque, formerly Commandant of NDC, assumes the role of Quartermaster General.

Adjutant General and MIST: Major General Hosain Al Morshed, previously GOC of the 19th Infantry Division, has been appointed as the Army’s Adjutant General. Major General Md. Hakimuzzaman, who was serving as AG, is now the Commandant of the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST). Major General Md. Nasim Parvez, MIST’s outgoing Commandant, has been posted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

GOC Logistics and Infantry Divisions: Major General Mohammad Kamrul Hasan, formerly GOC of the 66th Infantry Division, has been assigned as GOC of the Logistic Area, replacing Major General Md. Mostagousur Rahman Khan, who is retiring as per routine military protocol.
