Horrific Assault: Young Madrasah Student Abducted and Raped

A harrowing incident has shocked the community of Bhaluka, Mymensingh, where a nine-year-old madrasah student was allegedly lured away and brutally raped. The assault occurred on Sunday afternoon, 14th June, in a secluded, wooded area within the Birunia union of the sub-district.

The Incident and Allegations

According to local residents and law enforcement officials, the victim is a second-grade student whose widowed mother works in a local garments factory to support the family. The family currently resides in the Goari area of the upazila.

On the afternoon of the incident, the young girl had gone to a shop near the local Nandibari bus stand. It is alleged that the suspect, identified as 30-year-old Ismail Hossain, approached the vulnerable child. He reportedly lured her away from the public eye with the promise of buying her biscuits. Instead, he led her into a dense, forested patch adjacent to a mobile network tower, where the assault took place.

Upon returning home, the traumatised child bravely recounted the horrific ordeal to her mother.

Legal Action and Ongoing Investigation

Distraught by the revelation, the victim’s mother immediately sought justice, lodging a formal complaint at the Bhaluka Model Police Station. The police have registered a case against Ismail Hossain under relevant statutory provisions.

Sub-Inspector (SI) Sohel Rana, the primary investigating officer, confirmed that a case has been officially filed with a single named accused.

“We are taking this matter with the utmost seriousness,” SI Sohel Rana stated. “A comprehensive investigation is underway, and multiple police teams are actively conducting raids to apprehend the fugitive suspect, Ismail Hossain.”

Medical Evaluation and Next Steps

The survivor has been escorted by police personnel to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH) for an official forensic medical examination, which will provide vital evidence for the prosecution.
