All uncertainties surrounding the performance have finally been resolved. Following the last-minute postponement of his previously scheduled show, the celebrated Indian singer, lyricist, and composer Anupam Roy is officially set to perform in Dhaka. The eagerly awaited event, titled the “One True Sound” concert, will now take place on 1 August 2026 at the United Convention Centre in the capital.
The musical event was originally slated to take place on 26 June at the very same venue, with all logistical and promotional arrangements fully completed. However, due to unavoidable circumstances, the organisers had to defer the show at the eleventh hour. At the time, they assured disappointed fans that a fresh date would be announced once the situation stabilised. Honouring that commitment, the new schedule has now been finalised, bringing immense relief to the artist’s vast Bangladeshi fanbase.
The organising entity, Triple Time Communications, confirmed that preparations for the upcoming event have entered their final stages. Online ticketing systems are expected to go live within a few days. In an unexpected move to appease the public, the organisers plan to reduce the ticket pricing slightly compared to the previous edition.
Arifa Shabnam, a representative of Triple Time Communications, stated that the event has received all necessary green lights. The team is finalising the last few operational details before releasing the passes. She noted that the pricing strategy was intentionally revised to ensure the event remains accessible to a broader section of music lovers in the city.
Addressing the critical issue of previous ticket holders, the organisers clarified the refund status of the cancelled June event. The vast majority of patrons who purchased tickets through official channels have already received their monetary refunds. According to Shabnam, a negligible group of about forty buyers are yet to receive their cash back, a matter that is being resolved swiftly. The organisers stressed that tickets purchased for the postponed June show will not be valid for the new August date, meaning attendees must purchase entirely fresh passes.
The venue, United Convention Centre, boasts a capacity to accommodate roughly four thousand spectators. To enrich the musical evening, the organisers have arranged for a prominent Bangladeshi musical act—either a popular solo artist or a renowned band—to share the stage with Anupam Roy. The identity of the local co-performer is being kept under wraps for the time being, with an official announcement expected shortly.
All necessary administrative permissions and security clearances from relevant authorities have been secured by the event management team. With technical rehearsals and stage construction underway, the organisers are confident that this long-awaited performance will deliver a memorable evening for the music enthusiasts of Dhaka.
