The Government has decided to keep retail fuel prices unchanged for July, maintaining the existing rates for diesel, kerosene, octane and petrol across the country.
The decision was confirmed through an official notification issued on Monday, 30 June, by the Energy and Mineral Resources Division. According to the notification, the current prices that have been in place since the end of May will continue throughout the month of July without any adjustments.
Under the revised directive, diesel will continue to be sold at Tk115 per litre, while kerosene will remain priced at Tk135 per litre. Petrol will retain its existing retail price of Tk140 per litre, and octane will continue to be available at Tk145 per litre.
The government had previously fixed these prices through a notification issued on 31 May 2026. Following approval from the appropriate authorities, it has now been decided that the same rates will remain effective for another month.
The latest order specifies that the unchanged prices will be applicable from 1 July to 31 July 2026, ensuring stability in the domestic fuel market for consumers and businesses during the month.
Fuel prices play a significant role in Bangladesh’s economy, as they directly affect transportation costs, agricultural operations, industrial production and the prices of essential commodities. Any revision in petroleum prices often has a wider impact on inflation and the overall cost of living. As a result, monthly fuel price announcements are closely monitored by transport operators, manufacturers, traders and the general public.
In recent years, the government has periodically reviewed domestic fuel prices through official notifications, taking into account international oil market trends and other relevant economic considerations before determining retail rates. The decision to maintain prices for July indicates that no adjustment has been deemed necessary for the upcoming month.
The Energy and Mineral Resources Division stated that the approved prices for diesel, kerosene, petrol and octane will remain in force throughout July unless a subsequent government notification introduces any changes.
