Leaked Chat Sparks Controversy: Palash Muchhal & Mary D’Costa

Published: 27 Nov 2025, 05:12 am

Indian singer and composer Palash Muchhal has found himself at the centre of a social media storm after an intimate chat with choreographer Mary D’Costa was leaked online. The conversation, shared by Mary herself, has sparked widespread speculation about the nature of their relationship.

Palash was due to marry Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana on 23 November, having already held their engagement and traditional pre-wedding ceremonies. However, the wedding was postponed at the last minute due to Smriti’s father’s ill health. Rumours have now emerged suggesting that knowledge of Palash’s interaction with Mary may have influenced Smriti’s decision to defer the wedding.

Screenshots of the conversation reportedly show Palash inviting Mary to join him for a swim at a hotel, and stating that his relationship with Smriti is no longer what it used to be. Although these screenshots are circulating widely, their authenticity has not been verified, and neither Palash nor Smriti have issued comments regarding the situation.

Following the incident, Palash returned to Mumbai, Smriti removed images of the engagement from her Instagram account, and her brother unfollowed Palash on social media. This sequence of events has intensified speculation about the couple’s future together, with Mary D’Costa’s name repeatedly mentioned in media discussions.

Mary has publicly addressed the controversy, asserting in an Instagram story: “For the record, I have never met him.” Despite this, she has become a central figure in headlines, with some reports noting that she had choreographed dances for Smriti and Palash’s wedding festivities prior to the postponement.

The combination of leaked chats, social media speculation, and high-profile relationships has made this incident a hot topic, drawing attention from fans and entertainment media alike.
