The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has officially announced the national squad for the third and final One Day International (ODI) match against Australia, fully including the team captain, Mehidy Hasan Miraz. The all-rounder was cleared to join the squad after being discharged from the hospital on Friday, 12 June, following a medical evaluation.

Miraz played a critical role in securing a historic victory for Bangladesh in the second ODI match on Thursday, 11 June, hitting a decisive six to win the match. This crucial victory allowed the home team to secure the multi-match bilateral ODI series with one game left to play. However, shortly after leading his team to victory, the skipper had to be rushed to a local hospital due to an on-field head injury sustained during the highly competitive match.

On-Field Injury Details And Hospital Discharge Status

During the tense second ODI match against Australia, Miraz was struck on his head by a sharp bouncer delivered by an Australian fast bowler. Despite suffering a direct physical impact and subsequently experiencing symptoms of vomiting—which initially raised severe medical concerns among the team management—the captain chose to remain on the pitch and continue playing to ensure his team’s victory.

Immediately after the conclusion of the match, the official medical team of the BCB, including team physicians and physiotherapists, collectively decided to transfer Miraz to Evercare Hospital in Dhaka as a strict precautionary measure. The national team manager, Nafees Iqbal, confirmed that the captain underwent two separate medical scans, both of which returned clear and indicated no structural damage or internal injuries.

Miraz was kept under continuous clinical observation for approximately twelve hours at the hospital facility. Following the completion of the mandatory observation period, medical professionals cleared the cricketer, allowing him to return to his private residence on Friday.
