Metro Rail Halted for 20 Minutes After Cloth Stuck on Overhead Wire

Train operations on the electric metro rail were halted for about 20 minutes after a piece of cloth became entangled on the overhead wire. The information was confirmed in a message sent by the public relations department of DMTCL on Wednesday (3 December).

According to the message, the cloth fell on the overhead catenary cable between Uttara North and Uttara South stations. Train movement was suspended at 12:22 pm to remove the cloth, and operations resumed at 12:42 pm once it was cleared.

Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), the organisation responsible for constructing and operating the metro rail, expressed regret for the temporary inconvenience caused to passengers.
