The Ministry of Water Resources has issued an official recruitment notification for multiple vacancies across four distinct job categories. The recruitment drive seeks to fill a total of 37 positions graded between Grade 13 and Grade 20 under the national pay scale. Shorthand Typist-cum-Computer Operator (Grade 13): There are 10 vacancies available. Applicants must possess a bachelor’s or equivalent degree from a recognised university, alongside formal computer training. The role demands a minimum shorthand speed of 70 words per minute (wpm) in English and 45 wpm in Bengali, supplemented by a typing speed of 30 wpm in English and 25 wpm in Bengali.
Computer Operator (Grade 13): Out of the 2 available openings, candidates are required to hold a Bachelor of Science (BSc) honours or an equivalent degree from a recognised institution. Proficiency in computer typing is mandatory, requiring 30 wpm in English and 25 wpm in Bengali. Candidates must also clear a departmental Standard Aptitude Test.
Office Assistant-cum-Computer Typist (Grade 16): This category has 9 vacancies. Applicants must have completed their Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or equivalent examination from a recognised education board. Computer training is necessary, with a mandatory typing speed of at least 20 wpm in both English and Bengali.
Office Assistant / Support Staff (Office Sohayok – Grade 20): There are 16 openings for this position. The entry requirement is a Secondary School Certificate (SSC) or an equivalent qualification from a recognised education board.

The general age threshold for applicants is established between 18 and 32 years as of 1 May 2026. However, for departmental candidates contesting positions 1 and 3 (Shorthand Typist-cum-Computer Operator and Office Assistant-cum-Computer Typist), the maximum upper age limit is relaxable up to 40 years.
The statutory fees required for processing applications vary based on the position grade:
Positions 1 to 3: 112 BDT (inclusive of all telemetry and service charges).
Position 4: 56 BDT (inclusive of all service charges).
Concessionary Rate: A unified fee of 56 BDT (including service charges) is applicable across all grades for underprivileged or protected applicants, including ethnic minorities, physically disabled individuals, and transgender candidates.
The window for the submission of online application forms and the digital deposit of examination fees officially opened at 10:00 on 19 May 2026. The definitive closing time for the receipt of all completed applications is strictly fixed at 17:00 on 8 June 2026. Applications received after this time will not be processed by the ministry’s recruitment system.
