National Award-Winning Indian Singer Harassed at Dallas Airport

National Award-winning Indian playback singer Iman Chakraborty and her accompanying musicians faced severe harassment and mistreatment at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport in the United States. The singer and her troupe were en route to New Jersey to perform at a scheduled Durga Puja cultural event when staff and officers from American Airlines subjected them to hostile treatment.
Following the ordeal, Chakraborty took to social media via a live broadcast to express her outrage and detail the distressing encounter. She explained that despite possessing valid boarding passes and arriving at the airport well on time, airline staff barred her and her troupe from boarding the flight without providing any valid explanation. When the artists questioned the unexpected obstruction and protested the decision, airline staff behaved aggressively, verbally abusing them and physically shoving them away from the boarding gate.
The singer further revealed that airline employees treated her team’s high-value, professional musical instruments with utter disregard. Staff reportedly dismissed the delicate nature of the equipment and declared outright that American Airlines would take no responsibility if any instruments were damaged or broken during transit.
The hostile confrontation forced Chakraborty and her group to miss their scheduled flight. Although airline representatives eventually suggested an alternative flight, the troupe was left grappling with prolonged uncertainty and logistical delays. News of the mistreatment quickly sparked widespread indignation across social media platforms, with fans and netizens demanding strict action against the carrier for its unprofessional conduct towards international artists.
Chakraborty later updated her followers on social media, confirming that she and her team had managed to reach Philadelphia safely and were preparing for their scheduled performance. Nevertheless, public anger online remains high, with supporters calling on airline management to address the incident and compensate the troupe for the harassment suffered.
