NCP to Field Candidates in All 300 Constituencies with ‘Shapla Kali’ Symbol: Nahid Islam

The National Citizens Party (NCP) will contest the upcoming national election using the ‘Shapla Kali’ (Water Lily Bud) symbol and plans to field candidates in all 300 constituencies, said the party’s convener, Nahid Islam. He mentioned that the party’s final list of candidates will be completed within this month.

Nahid made the announcement in a video message addressed to the nation on Tuesday night.

He said, “In June, we submitted all required documents to the Election Commission for party registration. However, the commission delayed granting our desired symbol, ‘Shapla’. As a result, the NCP had to endure months of quiet struggle with the commission.”

He added, “Finally, the NCP has received the ‘Shapla Kali’ symbol. During this period, we have stood by the people and worked for their welfare. In July’s march, we reached out to the masses and received overwhelming support.”

Nahid further stated, “Across the country, we have built public opinion in favor of reforms under the July Charter and have been consistently advocating for justice.”

Highlighting the party’s preparation for the upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled for February, he said, “We are fully ready for the polls. Inshallah, we will field candidates in all 300 constituencies with the ‘Shapla Kali’ symbol.”
