New 100 Taka Banknotes to Enter Circulation Today

A new series of 100 Taka banknotes, featuring the theme ‘Historical and Archaeological Architecture of Bangladesh’, will be released into the market today. The initial issuance will take place from Bangladesh Bank’s Motijheel office, followed by a phased distribution through other central bank branches across the country.

Previously, banknotes of 1000, 50, and 20 Taka from the same series were introduced. Bangladesh Bank has confirmed that notes of other denominations from this series will be launched gradually in due course.

This new banknote design underscores Bangladesh’s rich cultural heritage and natural beauty, reflecting iconic landmarks and national symbols. It is expected to gradually replace the existing 100 Taka notes in circulation.
