Pakistan Announce Squads for Sri Lanka and Tri-Series Fixtures

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially announced its squads for the upcoming three-match T20 International series against Sri Lanka and a subsequent seven-match One Day International (ODI) tri-series involving England and Sri Lanka.
Sahibzada Farhan, who recently led the national team at the Asian Games, will captain the T20I side. Meanwhile, star fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi will take charge as captain of the ODI squad. The three T20Is against Sri Lanka are scheduled to take place at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on 9, 11, and 13 October.
Several fresh faces have earned maiden call-ups across the white-ball formats. Batter Razaullah, who impressed with his performances during the third Test against England, has been included in both the T20I and ODI squads. Young wicketkeeper-batter Saad Baig has been named in the ODI squad, while Mohammad Imran Randhawa earned his first T20I selection.
In contrast, several notable players have been omitted. All-rounder Salman Ali Agha was dropped from the T20I squad following his removal from the captaincy. Wicketkeeper-batter Usman Khan and mystery spinner Usman Tariq were also left out of the T20I roster. Furthermore, seamers Ali Raza, Mohammad Wasim Junior, Akif Javed, and Ahmed Daniyal, who were part of the Asian Games contingent, missed out on selection for the home series.
Following the T20I encounters against Sri Lanka, Pakistan will host England and Sri Lanka for a seven-match ODI tri-series. The opening three fixtures will be hosted in Rawalpindi before the action moves to the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore for the remaining group matches and the final.
