Police Arrest 255 Persons and Seize Firearms in Khulna Crackdown

Police in Khulna have arrested 255 individuals and confiscated illegal firearms, ammunition, and narcotics during an eight-day special law enforcement operation conducted across the district between 6 and 13 October. The coordinated crackdown was intensified following the appointment of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Md Rezaul Karim as head of Khulna Range, with local residents noting a visible improvement in public order across the region.
Throughout the drive, law enforcement personnel registered 19 narcotics-related cases, seizing 688 Yaba tablets, 1.905 kilograms of cannabis, and 20 litres of locally produced liquor. Officers also lodged an arms charge following the recovery of a pistol, a magazine, and two rounds of live ammunition. Officers arrested 42-year-old Raju Moral, son of Iman Ali Moral, recovering a pistol and two rounds of 7.65mm ammunition from his possession.

He was previously charge-sheeted by the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) following the recovery of the dismembered body of Habibur Rahman Sabuj from various locations across Khulna city in March 2019.
