The Premier Bank PLC has signed an agreement with the Credit Guarantee Department of Bangladesh Bank to expand financial support for small and marginal borrowers, according to a press release.
The partnership aims to assist eligible marginal and landless farmers, low-income professionals, school banking account holders, and micro-entrepreneurs who maintain Tk10, Tk50, or Tk100 accounts with Premier Bank.
The agreement was recently signed and exchanged between SM Wali Ul Morshed, Deputy Managing Director and Head of Retail Banking Division at Premier Bank, and Muhammad Nazmul Haque, Director of Bangladesh Bank’s Credit Guarantee Department.
Also present at the signing ceremony was Asif Khan, Executive Vice President and Head of SME and Agricultural Banking Division at Premier Bank, along with other senior officials from both institutions.
The collaboration underscores Premier Bank’s continued commitment to financial inclusion and to extending formal banking facilities to grassroots-level customers across Bangladesh.
