According to figures released by the event organisers, over 1,000 professional players have registered for the upcoming tournament. More than 500 of these applicants are overseas cricketers, underlining the global appeal of the newly established franchise league. The official player draft is scheduled to take place on 27 September 2026, where franchises will select their squads and determine whether Taskin secures a spot with one of the participating teams.

At present, the 31-year-old bowler is not attached to any specific franchise. Should he be picked up during the draft, the APL will mark another milestone in Taskin’s career across global franchise circuits. The Bangladesh speedster has previously featured in several prominent overseas tournaments, including the Lanka Premier League (LPL), Zim Afro T10, and Abu Dhabi T10 League.
