Teenager Killed in Kuakata Motorcycle Crash

A teenage tourist from Shariatpur lost his life, and two others sustained severe injuries in a motorcycle accident in the coastal town of Kuakata, located under the Patuakhali district. The incident occurred at approximately 10:30 am on Monday (1 June) along the Kuakata Marine Drive road.

The deceased has been identified as 17-year-old Zisan, son of Amir Hossain. He was a resident of Kashabhog (Kashapur) village under the Palang police station area in the Shariatpur district.

Sequence of the Incident

According to local sources, Zisan had travelled from Shariatpur to the Kuakata tourist destination on a trip with a group of friends, riding on motorcycles. The group was heading towards the Lemburbon eco-park area via the Kuakata Marine Drive road when the accident took place.

Eyewitnesses reported that the mishap occurred when a woman unexpectedly attempted to cross the road ahead of the oncoming vehicle. In an effort to avoid hitting the female pedestrian, the rider lost control of the motorcycle, causing the vehicle to veer off the road and crash violently into a roadside tree. All three individuals riding on the single motorcycle were thrown off by the impact and sustained critical injuries.

Rescue and Medical Response

Following the collision, local residents and bystanders rushed to the scene to assist the victims. They rescued the three injured teenagers and transported them to the nearby Tulatali Hospital for emergency medical attention.

Upon arrival at the medical facility, the attending doctor examined the casualties and pronounced Zisan dead. The other two injured individuals were admitted to the same hospital, where they remain under medical care for their injuries.

Animesh Haldar, the Inspector (Investigation) of the Mahipur police station, confirmed the death of the teenager in the motorcycle accident. He stated that the local police administration has initiated an investigation to ascertain the precise cause of the crash and to gather comprehensive details regarding the sequence of events. Inspector Haldar further assured that the necessary legal procedures concerning the incident are currently underway.
