Trump Threatens Iran With Total Destruction

US President Donald Trump has issued a stark warning to Iran, declaring that the country would face overwhelming military retaliation if it attempted to assassinate him. In a post published on his Truth Social platform on Saturday (11 July), Trump claimed that the United States had already prepared a large-scale missile response that would be launched if such an attack were carried out or even attempted.

According to Trump, 1,000 missiles have been positioned and are ready to be fired at the Islamic Republic of Iran. He added that this would only be the beginning of the military response, saying that thousands more missiles would follow if the Iranian government acted on what he described as its threats against the current President of the United States.

Trump wrote that if Iran were to assassinate him, or make any attempt to do so, the United States would respond with overwhelming force. He maintained that such an operation had already been planned and that the necessary military directives had been issued.

The US President also claimed that he had instructed the American military to remain prepared for such a contingency for a period of one year, with the possibility of extending those orders if required. He asserted that the US armed forces were fully prepared, willing and capable of carrying out operations that would completely destroy targets across Iran if the circumstances demanded such action.

The remarks add to the already strained relationship between Washington and Tehran, which has been marked by years of confrontation over security, regional influence, sanctions and Iran’s nuclear activities. Public statements from both governments have frequently reflected the deep mistrust that continues to define relations between the two countries.

Iran swiftly rejected any suggestion that it would bow to American pressure. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Iran’s chief negotiator and Speaker of Parliament, said Tehran would never surrender to the United States and remained prepared to defend itself if Washington abandoned any future agreement or understanding.

Ghalibaf stated that Iran had never halted its military preparedness and would continue strengthening its defensive capabilities. He argued that the country must remain ready because, in his view, the United States could withdraw from negotiated arrangements at any moment.

He also stressed that ending armed conflict should remain a priority for the international community. However, he insisted that any expectation of resolving the dispute through Iran’s surrender was unrealistic. According to Ghalibaf, Iran would continue to defend its sovereignty and national interests regardless of external pressure.

The latest exchange of warnings highlights the persistent tensions between the United States and Iran. While both sides continue to project military readiness and political resolve, the sharp rhetoric underscores the fragile state of relations and the potential risks posed by any further escalation in the long-running dispute.
