Global lighter manufacturer Zippo has entered a landmark cultural partnership with Bangladeshi rock pioneers Warfaze, making the iconic band the first from South Asia to collaborate with the century-old American brand. The initiative introduces a limited-edition collector’s series that merges musical legacy with global lifestyle branding.
As part of the collaboration, Zippo has released two specially designed lighters inspired by Warfaze’s influential musical journey. Each design pays tribute to a defining era of the band’s discography, reflecting both artistic identity and cultural memory. The products are being distributed exclusively through Zippo Bangladesh’s official channels and authorised retail partners.
The collaboration stems from an agreement signed last year, which laid the foundation for a broader cultural partnership. Beyond product releases, Zippo is expected to support selected promotional and creative activities involving the band in the coming period. In Bangladesh, the brand is officially represented by Luxco Trading Limited.
Warfaze, formed in the early 1980s, is widely regarded as one of the foundational forces in Bangladeshi rock music. Over four decades, the band has contributed significantly to shaping the country’s modern music landscape, blending hard rock influences with local lyrical themes. Their recognition with the Ekushey Padak further cemented their status as cultural icons.
Band leader Sheikh Monirul Alam Tipu described the partnership as a historic milestone, noting that Warfaze’s music has consistently resonated across generations. He emphasised that collaborating with a globally recognised brand such as Zippo represents both pride and international acknowledgement of Bangladeshi rock music. He also highlighted Zippo’s long-standing history of working with globally renowned musicians, adding significance to Warfaze’s inclusion in its creative legacy.
Luxco Trading Limited’s Managing Director, Irfan Hossain, stated that the initiative aims to cultivate a culture of collectible merchandise in Bangladesh. According to him, the collaboration is not only a commercial release but also an effort to bridge global branding with local cultural heritage. He further indicated that more limited-edition, culturally inspired designs are planned in the future.
