An allegation of gang-rape has been recorded in the Gafargaon Upazila of Mymensingh, where a housewife was reportedly abducted from her paternal home after her husband was bound by intruders. The incident transpired on the night of Tuesday, 16 June 2026, within the jurisdiction of the Pagla Police Station. Following the incident, the victim’s mother lodged a formal written complaint with the local police on Wednesday, 17 June 2026.
According to the details provided in the official complaint, the victim had been residing at her father’s house since her marriage. She occupied a room inside the residence along with her husband and their three-year-old child, whilst her mother occupied an adjacent room.
At approximately 12:45 am on Tuesday night, a group of seven to eight unidentified masked men forced entry into the home by breaking the door latch. Upon entering the room, the intruders immediately overpowered the victim’s husband, bound him securely, and subjected him to a physical assault.
The perpetrators then threatened the family with weapons and forcefully abducted the housewife from the property. She was taken to a secluded location a short distance away from the house, where she was subjected to a gang-rape. Following the departure of the assailants, relatives conducted a search, located the victim, and brought her back to the family residence.
The victim’s husband provided an account of the intrusion, stating:
“At around quarter to one in the morning, seven to eight masked men broke the door latch and entered our room. They then tied me up, beat me, and took my wife away to rape her.”
The mother of the victim expressed her distress to reporters, demanding strict legal accountability:
“I want justice against those who have committed such an act against my daughter.”
The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Pagla Police Station, Aminul Islam, confirmed that the written complaint had been received and that official investigations had commenced.
