Lalpur, Natore: A 20-year-old housewife, Khushimoni, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Lalpur’s Mohorkaya village late Saturday night (7 February). The incident reportedly follows ongoing domestic disputes between her and her husband, Md. Sohag.

Local sources revealed that the couple had been involved in frequent arguments. On the night of the incident, Khushimoni had dinner and went to sleep at her husband’s residence. Concern arose the next morning when she failed to wake up. Alarmed, her relatives from her parental home rushed to the house, finding her unresponsive. They immediately took her to Lalpur Upazila Health Complex for medical attention, but the attending doctors declared her dead on arrival.

Khushimoni is survived by a young daughter. Her husband, Md. Sohag, works as a microbus driver. According to neighbours, disputes between the couple were common, and family members have expressed suspicion that she may have been strangled due to a domestic altercation.

Police arrived at the scene after receiving information about the death, secured the body, and have initiated the legal process.

Lalpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge, Mojibur Rahman, confirmed the incident, stating that “upon receiving a formal complaint, an investigation will be conducted and necessary actions will follow according to the findings.”
