Prominent media personality and physician Abdun Noor Tushar has alleged that Dr Muhammad Yunus travelled to New York, taking along two leaders of an unregistered political party.
Speaking at a recent discussion, Tushar said: “The government wants elections to be held, while Jamaat insists there will be no polls without proportional representation. Naturally, the NCP (National Citizen’s Party) is aligned with the government—and indeed, it is. Evidence of this is already visible.”
According to Tushar, the Chief Adviser included Tasnim Jara, a senior NCP leader, and another party leader in his delegation to the United Nations General Assembly in New York. He emphasised that since the NCP is not yet registered, taking its leaders to such an important international platform raises questions.
“Including two leaders from an unregistered party naturally creates doubts,” Tushar remarked.
He further added that one of them had previously studied at his medical college, where she was his junior. Her selection, he suggested, might have been influenced by her command of English.
“Perhaps that is why she was chosen. But regardless of the reason, it is evident that NCP is essentially a pro-government party, moving in line with the wishes of the authorities.”
Tushar explained that the NCP had always tried to position itself as a centrist force in politics:
Tushar also pointed out that this alignment has triggered widespread criticism online, with numerous influencers openly attacking the NCP for its perceived proximity to the government.
| Allegation/Observation | Details |
| Delegation Members | Two leaders of an unregistered party (NCP) taken to New York |
| Key Figure Named | Dr Tasnim Jara, senior leader of NCP |
| Reason Suggested | English proficiency and close ties with government |
| NCP’s Position | Claiming centrism, but viewed as pro-government |
| Public Reaction | Strong online criticism from influencers |
Tushar concluded that NCP’s politics, although presented as centrist, reveal clear alignment with government priorities—making its role in the upcoming electoral landscape increasingly controversial.
