Probable Date for HSC Results Announced

The results of this year’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations in Bangladesh are expected to be published by 19 October, according to Professor S. M. Kamal Uddin Haider, Chairperson of the Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Examination Controller Committee.

Professor Haider stated: “The script evaluation is still ongoing. Very soon, the answer sheets will reach the boards. After that, the results will be prepared and published. We hope that the results can be released by 19 October.”

He further clarified that no official decision on the exact publication date has yet been made:

  • No discussions have taken place with the Ministry of Education or other authorities.
  • The evaluation process has been delayed because the exams were postponed three times, causing a backlog in marking.
  • Efforts are being made to minimise the time required to finalise and release the results.

Examination Participation

  • Over 1.25 million students participated in this year’s HSC and equivalent exams.
  • According to the revised routine, the written exams concluded on 19 August, and students are now awaiting results.

Legal Timeline and Preparation

  • According to the Public Examinations Act, results must be published within 60 days of the written examinations’ conclusion.
  • Boards are currently preparing the results, aiming to meet the legal timeframe, making 19 October a feasible target.

Examination Schedule

  • Originally, exams began on 26 June, with the conclusion scheduled for 13 August.
  • Several exams were postponed, and a revised schedule delayed the final completion slightly.

Professor Haider, as Chair of the Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Examination Controller Committee, also serves as Examination Controller of the Dhaka Board.
