South Indian actress Anupama Parameswaran has spoken out against online harassment. She has filed a written complaint with the Kerala Cyber Crime Police against a 20-year-old woman from Tamil Nadu for spreading false and obscene content about her and her family on Instagram.
Sharing her experience on Instagram, Anupama wrote, “I recently found out that a particular Instagram account has been posting extremely false and inappropriate content about me and my family. They were even tagging my friends and colleagues, sharing distorted images and baseless accusations. Witnessing this kind of targeting is truly emotionally distressing.”
The actress further stated, “The right to use a smartphone or social media does not give anyone permission to harass, insult, or spread hatred. Every action online leaves a trace, and one day people are held accountable for it.”
Anupama revealed that the accused had been using multiple fake IDs to post misleading content about her. However, considering the young age of the individual, she has chosen not to disclose her name. Instead, Anupama hopes that this incident raises awareness about cyberbullying in society.
Born on 18 February 1996 in Irinjalakuda, Kerala, Anupama Parameswaran made her film debut in the 2015 Malayalam blockbuster ‘Premam’. Since then, she has appeared in several popular Malayalam, Tamil, and Telugu films.
Among her projects in 2025, she will be seen in ‘Bison Kalamadan’, ‘The Pet Detective’, ‘Paradha’, and ‘Dragon’, taking on a variety of roles across these films.
