Anuv Jain’s fans in Dhaka have been left frustrated and uncertain after the singer’s much-awaited concert, scheduled for December 12, was called off by the organisers due to concerns about public safety. The event, which was expected to be a significant cultural gathering at the Madani Avenue Courtside, has been indefinitely postponed by Hypnation, the event organisers.
The organisers announced the cancellation in a Facebook post, where they stated that due to ongoing safety concerns, they were unable to provide a safe environment for all attendees, sponsors, and partners. “Given the current situation, we cannot ensure a safe and responsible setting for the concert,” the statement read. The organisers assured ticket holders that they would announce a new date as soon as the situation normalised, but also warned that until further notice, there was no certainty when the concert could go ahead.
This unexpected news has sparked concerns among ticket holders about whether they will be able to recover the cost of their tickets. Fans have flooded social media with questions regarding refund policies, but Hypnation has yet to provide specific details. The organisers have promised to clarify the refund process in the coming days. A spokesperson for the company confirmed that the refund policy would be published on the event’s official Facebook page shortly.
Anuv Jain, whose musical repertoire includes tracks like “Husn”, “Zindagi”, and “Reha”, is a highly popular figure in the Indian music scene. His participation in Coke Studio India in 2025 significantly boosted his fan base, and his Dhaka performance was expected to attract a large audience. However, now, fans are left to wonder whether the show will ever take place and if they will get their money back.
The recent wave of concert cancellations in Dhaka has raised questions about the city’s readiness to host international music events. Earlier in November, a concert featuring renowned Pakistani rock artist Ali Azmat and the popular Bangladeshi singer James was also postponed for security reasons, further highlighting the ongoing instability and safety concerns surrounding public gatherings in the region.
Organisers of both events have expressed hope that they will be able to reschedule the concerts once the security situation improves, but with increasing uncertainty, fans are starting to lose confidence in the city’s ability to host large-scale international events.
In the meantime, ticket holders for Anuv Jain’s concert are left anxiously waiting for updates, hoping for both a resolution to the security issues and a clear path to receiving their refunds.
