Who Will Be Leading Inquilab Mancha After Osman Hadi?

Following the untimely passing of leader Sharif Osman Bin Hadi, the political arena in Bangladesh has once again turned its attention to Inquilab Mancha. Founded on Hadi’s visionary ideals, the movement remains a significant force within the country’s political landscape, and its future direction has now become a focal point of interest for both citizens and political analysts alike.

The pressing question on everyone’s mind is: who will assume the role of the next convener of Inquilab Mancha? In a recent interview, senior leaders of the movement emphasised their unwavering commitment to advancing Hadi’s philosophy and objectives. “Though Hadi is no longer physically with us, he continues to guide the movement’s internal compass. We remain steadfast in leading the organisation under the light of his ideals,” they stated.

On social media and in public discourse, debate over the new leadership has been intense. Many analysts observe that Hadi’s unique presence and charisma cannot be fully replaced. Nevertheless, there is consensus that maintaining the core principles upon which Inquilab Mancha was founded is absolutely vital. The next leader, they argue, must be someone capable of faithfully embodying Hadi’s vision and translating it into tangible action within the movement.

Senior leader Fatima Tasnim Juma commented, “We are resolutely carrying forward our brother’s struggle. In our hearts, Hadi remains the convener. Despite our grief, our activities continue uninterrupted. Once a decision is made regarding the new convener, it will be formally announced in a press conference.” She further revealed that Hadi’s enduring legacy, the Inquilab Cultural Center, will soon reopen its doors to the public.

Publication editor Fahim Abdullah added, “There has been no discussion yet regarding new committee members or the convener. Our focus remains on mourning and ongoing activities. However, the Cultural Center is expected to reopen on Tuesday or Wednesday, and the event schedule will be shared shortly.”

Meanwhile, on the day following Hadi’s funeral, a gathering at Shahbagh demanded swift justice for his assassination. Inquilab Mancha’s official Facebook page released two stern statements urging the identification of those responsible and warning against any interference in investigative processes.

Across the city, citizens continue to pay their respects at Hadi’s grave, laying flowers and remembering his contributions. Yet one question resonates above all others: who will emerge as Inquilab Mancha’s next convener, capable of upholding Sharif Hadi’s revolutionary spirit and enduring ideals?
