In celebration of Victory Month, Dhaka is set to host a four-day cultural festival, “Prāne Āno Gān”, honouring the spirit of Bangladesh’s Liberation War. Organised by the Bangla Foundation, the festival will run from 24th to 27th December at the Bengal Art Lounge in Dhanmondi. Supported by Dhaka Bank, the event aims to bring the nation’s history, cultural identity, and artistic heritage to life through music, poetry, recitation, folk art, visual arts, and handicrafts.
The inauguration will feature Dhaka Bank Chairman Abdul Hai Sarker as the chief guest. Daily events are scheduled to commence at 5:45 PM, offering visitors a rich and immersive cultural experience. The organisers emphasise that “Prāne Āno Gān” is more than a showcase of artistic performances—it is part of a sustained effort by Bangla Foundation to connect younger generations with the ideals of the Liberation War, humanistic values, and collective memory through creativity and the arts.

Complementing the performances, daytime activities will include a handicraft exhibition “Karukatha” at Subir Chowdhury Square, running daily from 12 PM. Additionally, the “Annaswar” collective art exhibition at Kamrul Hasan Gallery will feature 35 artists, exploring themes of women’s lives, history, and the evolution of artistic practice. Children and teenagers can participate in the “Akash-Kusum” creative workshops, designed to nurture imagination and cultural engagement.
The festival is open to the public and serves as a unique platform to reconnect citizens with the ethos of Victory Month. By blending music, visual arts, and performance, “Prāne Āno Gān” offers a celebration of Bangladeshi heritage that inspires reflection, creativity, and a renewed appreciation of the country’s historical journey.
