In a fresh wave of legal turbulence for the controversial Bangladeshi singer Mainul Ahsan Noble, a Dhaka court has issued arrest warrants for the artist, his mother, and his wife. The warrants are linked to allegations of financial embezzlement and fraud involving a sum of over 1,318,540 BDT.
On Monday, Metropolitan Magistrate Raju Ahmed took cognisance of an investigative report submitted by the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI). The court subsequently ordered the arrest of five individuals: Noble, his mother Nazma Hossain, his wife Israt Jahan Priya, his assistant Munem Shah Soumik, and an associate, Masud Rana.
The case was initiated by a woman named Anannya Shabnam Rose, who alleges that Noble cultivated a romantic relationship with her under the guise of an impending marriage. According to the plaintiff’s counsel, Sajidul Islam, the singer leveraged this emotional connection to solicit funds over a period of nearly two years.
The legal complaint details a series of transactions occurring between 25 August 2023 and June 2025, totalling 1,318,540 BDT. The prosecution asserts that the other four accused actively facilitated this deception, aiding Noble in the misappropriation of the funds.
| Date | Event | Details |
|---|---|---|
| 13 Aug 2024 | Case Filed | Anannya Shabnam Rose files the original complaint. |
| 19 May 2025 | Prior Arrest | Noble arrested on separate charges of assault and rape. |
| 24 June 2025 | Bail Granted | Released after marrying the previous complainant in jail. |
| 07 Jan 2026 | PBI Report | Investigators confirm the veracity of the embezzlement claims. |
| 03 Feb 2026 | Warrants Issued | Court orders the arrest of Noble and four associates. |
This is far from Noble’s first brush with the law. The singer has frequently made headlines for his erratic behaviour and previous legal entanglements. Most notably, in May 2025, he was detained following allegations of “rape and assault.” In a bizarre turn of events, Noble was granted bail only after marrying the complainant while still in custody—a union that reportedly took place just five days prior to his release on 24 June.
When approached by the media regarding these latest warrants, an assistant to the singer initially dismissed the reports as “rumours.” Upon further inquiry, a representative stated that Noble was currently “preoccupied with rehearsals” and that any formal interview would require a prior appointment.
With the PBI report confirming the presence of prima facie evidence, the authorities are now expected to move forward with the arrests, adding another dark chapter to the career of the embattled musician.
