As the holy month of Ramadan approaches, the As-Sunnah Foundation has initiated a comprehensive programme to support underprivileged families across Bangladesh. Through this effort, 33,300 families will receive a total of 233 metric tonnes of iftar essentials, ensuring that those in need can observe fasting with dignity and nutritional adequacy.
The foundation has involved students from its Skill Development Department in every stage of the programme. During the pre-election holiday period, these students actively engage in packaging, logistics, and distribution. This hands-on participation provides them with practical experience while simultaneously fostering a sense of social responsibility and community service.
The iftar items are scheduled for simultaneous distribution at 627 locations across all 64 districts of the country. The initiative aims to ensure that families living in poverty have easy access to essential food items for both iftar and sehri throughout Ramadan.
Each package is thoughtfully assembled to meet the daily nutritional needs of a family:

These carefully chosen staples ensure families can maintain a balanced diet during the fasting month.
In a new initiative this year, each family will receive a copy of the book “27 Acts of Ramadan”, providing guidance on the spiritual and ethical significance of Ramadan. The foundation believes this will deepen recipients’ understanding of moral and religious duties, complementing the material support provided.
Officials of the foundation emphasise that this programme is part of a sustained commitment to welfare, aimed at improving the lives of marginalised communities. Beyond food provision, the initiative seeks to promote humanitarian values, compassion, and community engagement. Participation also helps students cultivate a stronger sense of social responsibility and empathy.
The As-Sunnah Foundation plans to continue such initiatives in the future, reinforcing its role as a pillar of support for disadvantaged families and a promoter of ethical and social awareness throughout the nation.
