Six students of Jahangirnagar University were detained by the hall administration on charges of using cannabis in Room 824 of the Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam Hall.
The operation was conducted at approximately 11:30 PM on Monday, 4 August, following a tip-off to the hall authorities.
Identities of the Detained Students
Out of the six students, five have been identified as follows:

Details of the Incident
According to hall administration sources, upon receiving the report around 11 PM, officials conducted a surprise raid on the mentioned room and found six students actively consuming cannabis. During the operation, the authorities also recovered cannabis and related paraphernalia from the students’ bags.
Administrative Action and Student Confession
Professor Mohammad Abdur Razzak, a hall official, stated:
“Upon reaching the spot, we found the students in the act of consuming cannabis. After verifying their identities, we released them upon receiving written undertakings. During preliminary questioning, they confessed to the offence.”
He added that actions would be taken against them in accordance with the university’s existing disciplinary regulations.
