During the event, Professor Dr Ali Erbaş, Turkey’s Minister of Religious Affairs, personally welcomed the new Muslims and shared a heartfelt message of unity and faith.

“We learn from our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) that the bond of faith and brotherhood is stronger than the bond of blood. Therefore, we are all as close to one another as the teeth of a comb,” he said, profoundly inspiring the audience.

Reflecting on Anatolia’s deep-rooted Islamic heritage, Dr Erbaş reminded the attendees:

“Islam has been present in this land since its early days, and for the past 1,400 years, the call to prayer (Adhan) has echoed throughout this country.”

He further emphasised:

“Islam is the greatest blessing sent by Allah to humankind.”

Quoting from the Holy Qur’an (Surah Al-Ma’idah, Verse 3), he said:

‘This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favour upon you and have approved for you Islam as your religion.’

Dr Erbaş concluded by noting the increasing relevance of Islam in the contemporary world:

“Today, Islam is more necessary than ever. It is a universal religion that will remain essential for humanity until the end of time.”

Following the address, a commemorative photo was taken with the newly converted American Muslims. They are now participating in a week-long special training programme in Konya, focusing on:

  • Core Beliefs of Islam
  • Worship Practices
  • Moral and Ethical Foundations

This initiative stands as a significant milestone in promoting cross-cultural spiritual understanding and deepening interfaith dialogue in modern Turkey.
