Central Bank Updates Rates as Bangladeshi Taka Maintains Forex Stability

The central bank of Bangladesh released the official daily foreign currency exchange rates on 31 October 2026, establishing reference prices for the foreign exchange market on 1 November 2026. Commercial institutions, authorized foreign exchange dealers, and remittance channels across the country use these official benchmark figures to settle cross-border financial transactions and private foreign exchange activities.

According to the official schedule, the Bangladeshi Taka (BDT) shows distinct variations against key international currencies. The US Dollar trades at a flat rate of 123.99 Taka for both buying and selling operations. Major European and Commonwealth currencies maintain higher valuation spreads: the British Pound Sterling (GBP) stands at 165.22 Taka for buying and 165.27 Taka for selling, whilst the Euro (EUR) is quoted at 138.27 Taka and 138.32 Taka respectively. The Singapore Dollar (SGD) holds at 96.76 Taka buying and 96.77 Taka selling, and the Australian Dollar (AUD) trades between 87.45 Taka and 87.47 Taka. Regional currencies remain closely tied to international trading movements, with the Indian Rupee (INR) holding steady at 1.30 Taka, the Chinese Yuan (CNY) at 18.61 Taka, and the Japanese Yen (JPY) priced at 0.79 Taka.

Over recent periods, Bangladesh Bank has introduced monetary adjustments to enhance flexibility within the domestic banking sector and align foreign exchange operations with broader macroeconomic policy. Currency movements are heavily monitored by monetary authorities to support crucial economic activities, including international import settlements, export earnings verification, and official expatriate remittance flows through formal banking channels. Central bank updates provide essential market guidance for commercial lenders, import-export merchants, and money exchange institutions, helping maintain financial stability across the formal economy.
