Jahangirnagar University authorities have announced that all academic and administrative activities will remain suspended today, Sunday, due to the ongoing process of the Jahangirnagar University Central Students’ Union (JUCSU) and hall union elections.
The decision was conveyed through an official notice signed by Registrar ABM Azizur Rahman on Saturday, 13 September.
According to the announcement, the JUCSU and hall union elections of 2025 involved extensive preparations, voting, and result counting between 10 and 13 September. During this period, teachers, students, and administrative staff actively engaged in the election process, often working tirelessly through sleepless nights.
This exhaustive schedule left many physically fatigued and mentally drained. Considering the wellbeing of all stakeholders, the university has suspended classes, examinations, and office activities for the day.
