Australia national cricket team have announced three changes to their white-ball squads ahead of their upcoming tour of Bangladesh, with key players ruled out due to personal reasons, injury concerns, and fitness setbacks.
The most notable absence is that of Travis Head, who has withdrawn from the tour due to personal reasons. Head had initially been included in both the One Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 International (T20I) squads following his involvement in the Indian Premier League. However, the management has opted to rest him in view of workload considerations. A replacement for him in the T20 squad is expected to be confirmed in due course.
Australia have also been forced to omit captain Mitchell Marsh from the ODI series. Marsh continues his recovery from an ankle injury sustained during the IPL and has not yet regained full fitness. Although there had been optimism regarding his availability for Bangladesh, he will instead focus on rehabilitation with an aim to return for the T20 leg of the tour, subject to medical clearance.
The third change comes with leg-spinner Tanveer Sangha, who has been ruled out due to a hamstring injury. His absence has opened the door for left-arm orthodox spinner Todd Murphy, who earns a call-up to the white-ball setup for the first time at this level. Murphy’s inclusion reflects Australia’s continued emphasis on developing spin depth for subcontinent conditions.
In response to these setbacks, Australia have added Matt Short and Ollie Peake to the ODI squad. In Marsh’s absence, Josh Inglis will continue to lead the side, having also captained during the preceding Pakistan tour. Should Marsh remain unavailable for the T20Is, Inglis is expected to retain leadership duties for that format as well.

The touring party will be looking to adapt quickly to subcontinental conditions, where spin-friendly pitches and high humidity are expected to play a significant role in shaping team selections and match strategies during the series against Bangladesh.
