The High Commission for Bangladesh in London has issued a formal clarification confirming that its official website remains fully secure and operational, while noting that the diplomatic mission maintains no direct administrative control over centralized visa servers. The mission clarified that all visa-related technical infrastructure and database servers are managed centrally by relevant authorities in Dhaka.
In an official press release issued on Saturday, 24 October 2026, the Bangladesh High Commission in London addressed online rumors regarding its digital infrastructure and consular services. The mission categorically rejected social media claims as “misleading and baseless,” warning that unverified rumors risk damaging the diplomatic mission’s reputation while creating unnecessary panic among the Bangladeshi diaspora residing across the United Kingdom.
Addressing concerns regarding cyber security, the High Commission reassured the public that its web portal maintains robust security protocols, stating there is no technical foundation to question the integrity or safety of its online platform.
Providing context regarding system administration, the diplomatic mission highlighted that visa processing platforms operate under a centralized digital architecture. Because maintenance, system upgrades, and technical management are executed directly by authorities in Bangladesh, staff at the London mission possess no scope to intervene in or alter server operations. Consequently, the High Commission stated that any temporary technical glitches or processing delays originating from the central visa infrastructure should not be attributed to local embassy operations in London.
Regarding consular assistance, the mission emphasized its ongoing commitment to serving the expatriate community. Officers process visa requests and consular documents as swiftly as possible provided applicants submit complete documentation and accurate personal details.
The High Commission reiterated that safeguarding the rights and welfare of non-resident Bangladeshis in the UK remains its highest priority. Representatives urged community members not to rely on unverified social media posts when seeking official information or raising operational concerns. Instead, citizens and visa applicants are advised to verify information through official communication channels or by contacting the High Commission directly in London. The diplomatic mission called for responsible public behavior and heightened awareness to counter misinformation online.
