Renowned musician Bappa Mazumder, who has captivated Bangladeshi audiences for over three decades with his signature vocals and compositions, is set to return to the stage for a major solo concert after an absence of nearly two and a half years.
Titled ‘Moonlight Melodies’, the upcoming show is scheduled to take place on 9 October at the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KIB) Auditorium in Dhaka. The singer officially announced the event on Sunday night, 13 September, sharing the promotional poster across his social media channels and urging fans to mark the date on their calendars.
Organised by the event management firm Mavix, the concert promises a comprehensive presentation of Mazumder’s vast musical repertoire. Ticket sales have not yet opened, though the organisers announced that details regarding ticket pricing, seating arrangements, and venue guidelines will be released shortly.
News of the upcoming performance generated immediate enthusiasm among fans online. Responses to the official social media announcement saw listeners express excitement, with many confirming their plans to attend the live performance in the capital.
Despite a music career spanning more than thirty years, solo concerts remain a rare feature in Mazumder’s performance history. He staged his maiden full-length solo concert in 2022, followed by a second major solo production in February 2024. While he performed a intimate solo gig in July last year, that event operated on a considerably smaller scale.
The October showcase will feature the singer performing his most celebrated tracks from both his solo discography and his work with his band, Sanjeeb Utsab and Lalon-inspired projects. Alongside his regular live performances and instrumental collaborations, Mazumder continues to write and release new material, maintaining an enduring connection with listeners across generations.
