BNP Leader Rashed Khan Accuses NCP Of Systematic Extortion

Rashed Khan, a senior leader of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), has formally accused the National Citizen Party (NCP) of relying on systematic extortion as its primary operational funding source. The allegations were detailed during a press conference held on Wednesday, 27 May 2026, at Khan’s political office in the Kaliganj upazila of Jhenaidah district.

During the press briefing, Khan directly questioned the source of the financial assets utilized by top NCP organizers and key student movement coordinators. He argued that the financial transparency of the newly emerged political leadership remains entirely unverified.

Rashed Khan challenged the source of funding for the NCP’s central infrastructure and the personal logistics of its leadership cadre. He specifically challenged the movement’s operational transparency, contrasting their high-cost arrangements with traditional political practices.

“Questions are being raised regarding the sacrificial giving of our colleague, Annie Bhai,” Khan stated. “Yet, the public must ask where the NCP secures the millions of Takas required to maintain their corporate office lease at the Rupayan complex. Furthermore, the financial sources enabling Nasiruddin Patwari to travel via vehicular convoys under formal security protocols remain completely unaccounted for.”

Khan extended this financial scrutiny to other prominent coordinators, explicitly demanding public audits into the personal income streams of Sarjis Alam and Nahid Islam.

His rhetoric is erratic, and he will face public pushback wherever he travels within the country. It is not the BNP, but the general populace that will discipline such insubordinate behaviour.”
