Broken Glass Causes Fatal Head Injury to Dhaka Driver

A 50-year-old CNG-powered auto-rickshaw driver has died after his vehicle struck a roadside divider on Minto Road in the capital, Dhaka, late on Thursday night. The impact shattered the vehicle’s glass, causing a serious head injury that proved fatal.

The deceased, identified as Sanowar Hossain, was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital after being rescued from the accident scene. Doctors declared him dead upon arrival, according to the information provided about the incident.

The crash occurred at around midnight on Thursday in the Minto Road area under Ramna Police Station. Sub-Inspector Abdullah Al Mohsin of Ramna Police Station confirmed the incident.

Pedestrian Touhid Hossain, who took Sanowar to hospital, said the auto-rickshaw lost control while the driver was travelling along the road at night. The vehicle then collided with a roadside divider, shattering its glass and injuring Sanowar in the head.

Sanowar was found lying on the road in a bloodied condition following the collision. Touhid came forward to help and transported the injured driver to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where medical staff examined him and declared him dead.

The exact circumstances that led to the vehicle losing control have not been established in the information available. No further details were immediately provided about the cause of the collision or whether any other vehicle was involved.

Sanowar’s body remains in the mortuary at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. His family will need to complete the relevant formalities concerning the body.

He was originally from Solanga village in Tangail Sadar Upazila. His father’s name was Abdul Karim.
