The Directorate of Primary Education has issued an urgent notice for all primary schools across the country, encouraging widespread participation in a series of national-level cultural and sports programmes for students. The initiative encompasses competitions in drawing, poetry recitation, debate, and ghazal performance, alongside year-round training in cricket, football, badminton, and karate at district stadiums.
According to a memorandum signed by Assistant Director Mahfuza Khatun, the directive invites students from schools under the Directorate’s jurisdiction to actively take part in these events and training programmes. Importantly, participation in any of the competitions or registration for the sports training programmes does not require any fee, making it accessible to all talented students.
The notice specifies that students interested in participating must register online between 1st and 15th January 2026. Schools and teachers are encouraged to guide students through the registration process via the official websites.
The memorandum also highlights that the events and training programmes are being organised in collaboration with Talent Sports Limited, and stresses the importance of co-operation from school authorities and relevant officials to ensure smooth participation. Students are encouraged to showcase their talents and pursue excellence in both cultural and sporting fields.
Officials are particularly urged to provide necessary support and guidance, ensuring that students can confidently participate in the national competitions and year-round training programmes. This initiative reflects the Directorate’s commitment to fostering creativity, intellectual engagement, and physical fitness among primary school students.
The detailed schedule of competitions and sports training programmes is summarised below:
| Programme Type | Events/Training | Venue | Registration Period | Fee |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cultural Competitions | Drawing, Poetry Recitation, Debate, Ghazal | Nationwide (schools) | 1 – 15 January 2026 | Free |
| Sports Training | Cricket, Football, Badminton, Karate | District Stadiums | Year-round | Free |
The Directorate urges all schools to actively motivate students to participate, highlighting the dual focus on nurturing artistic talent and promoting physical fitness. By participating in these initiatives, students gain exposure to nationwide platforms where they can develop confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills alongside their peers.
This nationwide directive represents a significant step in promoting holistic education and creating opportunities for young talents to shine both culturally and athletically.
