Residents and commercial establishments in several areas of the capital are experiencing a temporary suspension of gas services today, Tuesday, 22nd September, to allow for urgent pipeline repair work. Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited announced the planned outage via an official press release issued on Monday evening, urging domestic and commercial consumers to plan their daily activities accordingly.

According to the official schedule released by the utility provider, the emergency maintenance operations commenced at 12:00 pm and will run continuously for five hours until 5:00 pm. The essential repairs aim to reinforce the integrity of the local distribution network and address critical infrastructure defects within the pipeline system.

The areas subject to a complete shutdown of gas supply during this five-hour window include South Paikpara, Sonali Nagar, and both the eastern and western sections of Bottola, along with their immediate surroundings. Titas Gas officials have also alerted residents in adjacent neighbourhoods that they may experience significantly reduced gas pressure throughout the afternoon as a secondary result of the maintenance work.

The state-owned distribution company expressed deep regret for the temporary inconvenience caused to households, restaurants, and businesses in the affected localities. Maintenance engineers are currently working on-site to ensure the pipeline repairs are completed within the stipulated timeframe, allowing normal gas pressure to be restored swiftly across all impacted zones by Tuesday evening.
