Police have arrested a man facing 21 prior narcotics charges during an operation in the Harirampur Upazila of Manikganj. The suspect, identified as 52-year-old Hukum Ali, was apprehended at his residence, where law enforcement officials recovered a quantity of yaba tablets and cannabis.
The operation commenced at approximately 4:00 pm on Tuesday, 2 June. Acting on a tip-off, a team from the Harirampur Police Station conducted a raid at Ali’s home in Rajar Kolta village, located within the Gala Union. Hukum Ali is the son of the late Monsher Ali.
During the search of the premises, police officers discovered and seized 25 pieces of yaba tablets alongside 50 grams of cannabis. Following the discovery, Ali was taken into police custody and transferred to the local station.
According to police sources, Hukum Ali has been actively involved in the illicit drug trade for an extended period. His criminal record includes 21 pre-existing narcotics cases filed at the Harirampur Police Station. Following this latest raid, an additional case has been initiated against him under the Narcotics Control Act. The newly registered case has been designated as Case Number 1(06)26.
