Electing to bat first after winning the toss in Bridgetown, Guyana Amazon Warriors constructed a massive total anchored by a blistering century from Shimron Hetmyer. The West Indian batsman smashed an unbeaten 102 off just 45 deliveries. Complemented by Shai Hope’s steady 40 and a late 29-run cameo from Quentin Sampson, Guyana closed their innings on 206, setting a daunting target for Jamaica.

Guyana captain Imran Tahir introduced Miraz into the bowling attack as early as the second over, seeking to exploit a favourable off-spin matchup against Jamaica’s left-handed openers. The tactical move backfired rapidly. Jamaica opener Ma’az Sadaqat attacked Miraz immediately, dispatching his first over for two sixes and a boundary.

Dwaine Pretorius was the only bowler to maintain control for Guyana, taking two for 37, whilst every other bowler conceded over 10 runs per over. The defeat ends Guyana’s CPL journey, leaving Miraz to reflect on a promising tournament that met a bitter end.
