Modhumoti Bank PLC, as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme, donated a 12-seater electric cart on Thursday to Dhaka Central Jail. The initiative aims to ensure convenient and safe transportation for inmates as well as staff within the jail premises.
Mr Humayun Kabir, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Modhumoti Bank, handed over the key of the cart to Colonel Md Tanvir Hossan, Additional Inspector General of Prisons, Department of Prisons. Distinguished members of the Board, including Mr Salahuddin Alamgir, Chairman of the Executive Committee, and Board Members Mr Mohammad Ismail Hossain and Mr A Mannan Khan, attended the event.
The event was also attended by Mr Md Shafiul Azam, Managing Director & CEO of Modhumoti Bank; Mr Arif Hasan Khan, SEVP & Chief Risk Officer; Senior Jail Superintendents Ms Suraiya Akter and Mr Md Tayef Uddin Mia; along with other senior officials of both institutions.
The electric cart is expected to facilitate efficient and cost-effective intra-jail transportation, easing daily operations for staff. The bank described this initiative as part of its social responsibility and expressed commitment to further similar efforts in the future.
