Nationwide Rain Likely; Temperatures Expected to Remain Steady, Says Meteorological Department

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast widespread rain across various regions of the country over the next 24 hours, while daytime and nighttime temperatures are expected to remain largely unchanged.

This prediction covers the period from 9:00 am on Monday, 29 September, to 9:00 am the following day.

According to the meteorological update:

The department emphasised that day and night temperatures are expected to remain almost unchanged throughout the country.

Weather Systems and Atmospheric Conditions

• The monsoon trough extends from Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, the northern Bay of Bengal, and southern Bangladesh to Assam.
• Over Bangladesh, the monsoon winds are relatively inactive, while in the northern Bay of Bengal, they remain moderately active.

The meteorological office indicated that a low-pressure area may develop over the northern and adjoining central Bay of Bengal around 1 October, potentially affecting weather conditions in the coming days.

Residents are advised to stay alert for localised heavy rainfall and gusty winds and follow updates from the Meteorological Department.
