A new music-based television reality show titled Bodhuar Gaan has been officially launched, creating a dedicated platform exclusively designed for married women to showcase their musical talents. Following marriage, numerous women across the country gradually distance themselves from their personal dreams and artistic aspirations due to the accumulation of domestic responsibilities, family commitments, and societal expectations. Despite these domestic obligations, immense hidden potential, unrevealed melodies, and unfulfilled artistic identities often remain within them. Bodhuar Gaan aims to bring these hidden talents back into the spotlight, offering married women a unique stage to rediscover their voices, re-establish their self-confidence, and express their lifelong dreams anew. This initiative, which enables contestants to step beyond the boundaries of their daily domestic routines, is set to inspire many women and create powerful stories of self-belief and personal empowerment.
The musical reality show is being organised and managed by Kingbodonti Media. To ensure the highest standards of musical evaluation, the organisers have assembled a highly distinguished and experienced panel of judges consisting of three of the nation’s most acclaimed female vocalists:
Sabina Yasmin
Kanak Chapa
Rizia Parveen
The registration process for Bodhuar Gaan commenced online on 12 May. Interested participants can register for the competition by submitting a designated registration fee of 500 Bangladeshi Taka (BDT). The official registration window will remain open until 6 June. Following the completion of the nationwide registration phase, the selected contestants will progress to the main competitive rounds of the event, which are scheduled to be broadcast on the satellite television channel GTV (Gazi Television).
The competition offers a substantial prize structure designed to reward the musical excellence demonstrated by the participants across the various competitive stages:
| Position | Award Details |
| Champion | Official Winner’s Trophy, 10 Lakh BDT Cash Prize, and an Opportunity to Record a Music Video |
| First Runner-up | 5 Lakh BDT Cash Prize |
| Second Runner-up | 2 Lakh BDT Cash Prize |
According to the official representatives of the organising committee, a vast number of talented women relegate their artistic capabilities to the background while fulfilling their familial duties after marriage. The organisers emphasised that Bodhuar Gaan is not merely a traditional singing competition; rather, it represents a collective journey of reclaiming lost aspirations for married women whose musical identities often fade into silence. It serves as a chapter for the revival of self-confidence and personal identity through the medium of music, where every participant is recognized as an artist, every voice tells a unique story, and every song represents a new lease of life.
Highlighting the profound significance of this cultural initiative, legendary vocalist Sabina Yasmin stated in a video message:
“Countless musical talents are scattered across the villages, semi-urban towns, and major cities of Bangladesh. There are many housewives who are unable to perform their music in front of the public simply due to a lack of proper opportunities. This reality show has been meticulously organized for those specific women. Please do not miss this chance. I will be present to listen to your songs. I hope everyone will come thoroughly prepared to perform beautifully.”
Expressing her enthusiasm for the upcoming event, fellow judge Rizia Parveen remarked:
“We are bringing a magnificent platform tailored specifically for housewives. Whosoever is a married woman, regardless of her current profession, this Bodhuar Gaan is for all of you. I sincerely hope that this will turn out to be an exceptional and highly successful event.”
