Rain Forecast, Temperature Drop in Dhaka

Authorities have indicated that rain or thundershowers may occur in the capital city of Dhaka by midday today, alongside a likely slight reduction in daytime temperature.

According to a weather bulletin issued at 7:00 am on Monday (8 June) for Dhaka and its surrounding areas, the sky over Dhaka is expected to remain partly cloudy throughout the day. The forecast further states that there is a possibility of rain or thundershowers during the daytime hours. In addition, a minor decrease in daytime temperature has been indicated.

The bulletin also notes that wind may flow from a south to south-easterly direction at a speed of approximately 10 to 15 kilometres per hour, which may accompany the prevailing weather conditions.

Beyond the capital, the broader 120-hour national forecast issued by the Meteorological Department outlines varying weather conditions across different divisions of Bangladesh.

The forecast states that many areas in the Sylhet Division are likely to experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally winds. Similar conditions are also expected in parts of the Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Barisal, and Chittagong divisions.

In addition, isolated areas within the Rajshahi and Khulna divisions may also experience light rain or thundershowers in a few places. The forecast further indicates that some locations across the country could see moderate to heavy rainfall during the same period.

Despite the presence of rainfall activity, the Meteorological Department has stated that both daytime and nighttime temperatures across the country may rise slightly during this forecast period.
