In a deeply disturbing incident that has shocked locals, a 16-year-old boy named Mohammad Hossain Mia was brutally stabbed to death over a dispute involving merely 500 Bangladeshi Taka (approx. £3.50). The incident occurred on Monday evening (5 May) in the Paschim Bazar area of Dowarabazar Upazila, Sunamganj.

Incident Overview
According to eyewitnesses and local sources, Hossain went to the market around evening with 500 taka in hand. There, another teenager—believed to be around 17 years old and also from Purbo Naingaon—demanded the money from him.
When Hossain refused to hand over the money and attempted to flee, the other youth allegedly chased him down and stabbed him in the abdomen and neck from behind before fleeing the scene.
Locals rushed the blood-soaked Hossain to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Police Statement
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Dowarabazar Police Station, Md Zahidul Haque, confirmed:
“We arrived at the scene promptly after being informed. A full investigation is underway, and we’ve launched a manhunt to apprehend the suspect. More details will come to light as the investigation progresses.”
