According to local sources, tension had been brewing in Khayerpur village for several days between the two factions over territorial influence and a recent dispute involving the theft of a battery from a local mosque. The simmering hostility escalated sharply on Saturday morning when members of both factions armed themselves with domestic weapons and confronted each other in the village.

A fierce clash ensued, characterized by violent chases and counter-chases across the area. During the chaos, Halim was critically assaulted by members of the opposing group. Local residents rushed him towards medical care, but he succumbed to his severe injuries either en route to the facility or shortly after arrival.

Ten other individuals from both sides sustained serious injuries during the clash. Emergency responders and residents rescued the injured and admitted them to Kushtia 250-Bed General Hospital alongside various local clinics. Medical personnel reported that several of the injured remain in critical condition, raising concerns that the casualty count could rise.

The violent outburst has left Khayerpur village gripped by fear and tension, with panic spreading among local inhabitants. Upon receiving information regarding the incident, officers from Kushtia Model Police Station arrived at the scene to restore order. Police personnel managed to disperse the crowd and bring the immediate violence under control.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kushtia Model Police Station, Zakir Hossain, confirmed that the body of the deceased has been recovered and dispatched to the Kushtia General Hospital morgue for a post-mortem examination. Law enforcement officers have detained one suspect, identified as Tariqul, for his alleged involvement in the violence.

Additional police forces have been deployed throughout Khayerpur village to prevent further retaliatory attacks and maintain law and order. Investigations into the conflict remain ongoing as authorities work to identify and apprehend all individuals involved in the violent dispute.
