Women with Disabilities Graduate from Digital Marketing Training under EBL–BBDN Partnership

Dhaka, 30 September 2025 — Eastern Bank PLC (EBL) and the Bangladesh Business & Disability Network (BBDN) marked an inspiring milestone today as fifteen women with disabilities successfully graduated from a specialised Digital Marketing Training Programme. The certificate-awarding ceremony was held at the Skill Jobs office, attended by representatives from BBDN, EBL, Skill Jobs, and B-SCAN.

The training programme was developed to empower women with disabilities by equipping them with market-relevant digital skills to prepare them for meaningful employment in the evolving digital economy.

Prior to the sessions, BBDN organised a sensitisation workshop for Skill Jobs instructors to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment. In partnership with B-SCAN, candidates were identified, assessed, and enrolled.

To ensure equal access and participation, the programme provided reasonable accommodations such as:

  • Sign language interpretation
  • Transportation allowances

These measures aimed to remove barriers and create a level playing field for all participants.

  • Aziza Ahmed, Director of Operations, BBDN, added: “The graduates of this training are ready to contribute their skills and energy to the digital economy. Women with disabilities face multiple layers of marginalisation, yet they hold immense untapped talent. We thank EBL for supporting this initiative, and we call on others in the private sector to create more pathways for women with disabilities to thrive and lead.”

The graduates themselves shared their aspirations. Sangita Ghosh, a participant with hearing and speech disability, expressed: “I want to use the knowledge gained from this Digital Marketing training to promote my online dance tutorial channel and expand my reach through social media.”

This initiative demonstrates how collaboration between businesses, disability-focused organisations, and training providers can effectively break down barriers, enabling women with disabilities to learn, work, and lead in a rapidly changing digital world.

The Bangladesh Business & Disability Network (BBDN) is a platform of employers, employers’ associations, disability-focused organisations, NGOs, Organisations of People with Disabilities (OPDs), CSOs, and development partners. It works to advance inclusive practices in the world of work and skills development, while ensuring equal opportunities and economic empowerment for persons with disabilities.
