A sense of profound shock has gripped the Naikhongchhari region of Bandarban following allegations that two young sisters, both students of a local girls’ madrassah and orphanage, were abducted and subjected to horrific abuse in Cox’s Bazar. Law enforcement officials acted swiftly to apprehend the primary suspect, identified as 43-year-old Ayat Ullah, in connection with the incident that occurred on Tuesday night.
The victims, who are biological sisters, were residents of a combined female madrassah and orphanage in Naikhongchhari. According to institutional records, the elder sister had achieved the significant milestone of completing the 16th Para of the Hifz-ul-Quran, while the younger sister was enrolled in the Nazera department.
According to family and local sources, the suspect, Ayat Ullah—son of Mohammad Ferdous from Ward 9 of the Moulovikata area in Kachhapia Union—allegedly used deception to lure the girls out of their educational sanctuary at approximately 9:00 PM on 20 January 2026. It is reported that he transported them via the Rupnagar route to a hotel in the coastal town of Cox’s Bazar, where the alleged abuse took place.
