DRU Members to Receive Fuel Supply

In a move aimed at supporting the fieldwork of journalists, Md. Nazmul Haque, owner of Ramna Petrol Pump and president of the Bangladesh Petrol Pump Owners Association, has announced a special fuel supply facility exclusively for members of the Dhaka Reporters’ Unity (DRU).

The initiative will commence on Tuesday morning at 9:00 am, allowing DRU members to collect fuel directly from the Ramna Petrol Pump. This step is intended to facilitate journalists’ regular on-site reporting duties by ensuring smoother and more convenient transportation in their personal vehicles.

Md. Nazmul Haque explained, “Journalists often spend long hours in the field covering events and stories. By providing fuel support, we aim to reduce logistical challenges and enable them to perform their professional duties more efficiently.” He added that members would be able to access this facility through established rules and procedures, with detailed instructions to be issued shortly.

The Bangladesh Petrol Pump Owners Association has welcomed the initiative, noting that it will enhance the operational efficiency of DRU members and support their professional responsibilities.

DRU members will be required to present their membership identification and reference Md. Nazmul Haque’s announcement when collecting fuel at the Ramna Petrol Pump. Authorities have confirmed that the scheme is designed to ensure orderly distribution while prioritising the journalists’ professional needs.

The following table outlines the key details of the fuel provision programme:
